LAYOUT: week 43

my new addiction is this bejeweled game in facebook. a couple of days ago i was second in the ranking and now i am fifth!!! omgeeeesh!!! i was so happy i got over 200k score....but never got the chance to reach it again. i wanted to rank higher but to no avail... grrrrrr.yup...i am getting frustrated.

anyway...so here i am posting my 43rd week layouts.

WEEK 44: october 27 - 28...

october 28 --so this is my new addiction!! bejeweled on fb! so far this is the highest score i reached! (you cannot imagine how long i played to reach that score...hahaha). but last week one fb friend of mine reached 440k in this game!!! that is excellent! i wonder how she did it! but every now and then fb resets the scores and you have to make new records. so you see i rank 2nd...but that lasted only a couple of hours. the next time i checked, i moved down because heidi moved up. it is a tough fight....hahaha!

after lunch i brought the kids to the park for some fresh air. it wasn't too cold. there weren't too many kids in the park so it was good. after an hour, we went to the grocery to buy some stuff we need. i guess sofia got tired running around the park because she fell asleep on the stroller while we were doing the grocery.

when we got home our guardian gave us a package that arrived while we were out. it was from jake!! isabelle was so excited because she knew some of the stuff in it were for her. thank you jake for everything!!


october 27 -- the trees in front of our apartment has turned yellow. it is really beautiful because it is like glowing! but whenever the wind blows, its leaves are being blown away slowly....

WEEK 44: october 26 !!!!

i have to post this separately because this is something really important.... (drum roll!!!)

i got in w&w ct team!!! isn't that amazing!!
since i discovered their site, i have been wanting to be in their team. i just love their designs and the community there is really nice! the minute they announced that they were open for ct application i think i was the first one to email and post in the thread. but of course, i wasn't that confident that i would get in because i have seen the girls there and i tell you they are great scrappers!!! but still i didn't want to miss the chance. i couldn't stand the wait sunday night so i decided to just sleep and wait for the news in the morning. the minute i woke up i checked the forum and...no news. i clicked on the blog...and there it was!!!!!! i had to read it 3 times to make sure that it was me. (i have to say i prefer to be called GIRLIE than rhodora but it doesn't matter..i got it!) so there..i made it to the team!!
then off i went to check my mail. there was also an email from gina about it...and it confirmed that i did make it to the team. happy! happy! happy!!

WEEK 43: october 24-25...

october 25 -- it was a lazy night... and when i say lazy it basically means i am not in the mood to cook. my dear husband was kind enough to prepare dinner for us!! of course it cannot be anything complicated but i really appreciate when he volunteers to prepare the food. this is like a quiche and i love it! he also prepared soup to go with that.

and he used this mini-oven that he just bought. i think it is very convenient when you are only cooking/baking/reheating small amount or quantity of food. it works well!(there are certain food that i don't re-heated in the microwave...and reheating it in a real over is really too much. so this is good!)


october 24 -- after attending mass we ate at one of our favorite restaurant, hippopotamus!

as you can see the template gina used is inspired by my week 39 layouts!!! yipee!! well... im just honored (and really flattered!!)

WEEK 43: october 22-23...

the kids went to school today! they are feeling better.

october 23-- the trees outside our apartment has turned color. most of its leaves are now yellow... and they are starting to fall. they don't really turn to orange nor brown. i love the yellow color of the leaves but i feel sad that soon they will be gone....


october 22 -- the kids didn't go to school because they still have the flu. here is my son reading his books to pass time...

WEEK 43: october 19-21...

october 21 -- in the middle of the morning i woke up with a bad tummy and i started vomiting. after that i went back to bed and tried to sleep. after a couple of minutes i heard isabelle crying. i went to their room and she said she had a tummy ache. she asked for food because she thought she was hungry so i gave her some crackers. after taking a couple of bites, she started vomiting too!!! oh gosh!! we have tummy-flu! she felt a little better after vomiting so she went back to bed. when rafael woke up early that morning, he started vomiting too. that's it...we were all sick!
sofia was vomiting the night before that so i guess we got it from her, but today she was feeling better. as you can see she is already trying to make herself a sandwich. but more of the spread went to her mouth directly than to her bread. at the end of it she didn't finish her bread.


october 20--just before my kids went to school, rafael read a book to isabelle. every now and then isabelle would bring home a book from the library. rafael was kind enough to read the stories to her sister. i just love seeing them like that. i remember i have taken a picture of them like this before. well... i just want to capture the same moment again!


october 19 -- had a doctor's appointment today. i am having some pain on my wrists espcially when i scrub (the kitchen floors, bath tub and the dishes) for a long time. a friend of mine (who is a doctor but is not practising here in paris) told me it can be something related to my tendons. she told me what it is called but of course i couldn't remember what is it...hahaha. so i had to see my doctor who can give me some prescriptions. anyway, so it is true.. i have something called... gosh, i couldn't recall the word!!! but all i can remember is i should buy something to protect my wrists. so here they are!!! i really don't know how this would help because i couldn't wear them while i do my scrubbing!!! well...whatever.

LAYOUT: week 41

today is not a very good day. me and my three kids are all sick ( vomiting and diarrhea...but no fever). good thing they don't have classes on wednesday. and also, it is raining today! gosh... what a day. even if i am not feeling well, i need to tidy up the house a bit because winter clothes and summer clothes need sorting.
anyway, i just sat here for a while to rest so i decided to just post a note here and share my week 41 layouts!

WEEK 42: october 17 - 18...

here is the rest of week 42. we are halfway october already, december is just around the corner!!!

october 18 -- our last picture with dr. topacio and jessica. they would be leaving thetomorrow to go back to the philippines. the kids enjoyed jessica's company so much... especially isabelle. she had so much fun talking and playing with her.

while my guests were in their tour.. it was time for me to take out the cointainers of winter clothes. this is the part i really don't like about season change...


october 17 -- i needed to pick up our visitors from the hotel. they were here in paris for a (medical-related) meeting. they decided to stay a couple more days in paris to see more sights. this doctor is a friend of my ob-gyn when i was still in the phils. anyway, i woke up early because i needed to be in the hotel before 7:30 am. i decided to pick them up myself because i know nitz needed sleep (it has been a tiring week for him and he can only sleep a little bit longer during weekends). it was still dark when i left the house. this is the picture of where i was waiting for the bus in front of our apartment. i was the only one there... (i was a little bit scared to be out that early...alone!!)

i needed to take 2 buses to get to the hotel. so from the house to the eiffel tower then from the eiffel tower, the bus goes straight to the hotel. when i got off at the eifferl tower, i was surprised to see that it was not lit!! it was still dark and i just thought the tower would still be lit. well, i guess they turn it off sometime early in the morning. i have to say it was a lonely sight...

here are my guests! dr. topacio and her niece, jessica. we took them to the miraculous medal church, le bonne marche, lafayette and then to arc de triomphe. we sure had a long but productive day...

WEEK 42: october 15 - 16...

october 16 -- these are apples that isabelle picked! their class went to a farm and each student went home with a bag of apples they picked. i think that was a wonderful experience for isabelle.


october 15 -- just sharing with you the snack pack i bring to my kids whenever i pick them up from school. today i brought cookies and chocolate drink. there are days when i would bring fruits or sometimes sandwiches. sometimes they would tell me what exactly to bring. i know i will miss this thing when they are all grown up...(sigh).

WEEK 42: october 12 - 14...

its already week 42..!! time has flewn so fast. its almost winter and its getting colder and colder everyday. the heater in the building is already turned on so that means it is officialy 'cold'.
here is the start of my week...

october 14-- my 2 girls happily drawing in our room. they actually have 2 small tables in their room! but as you can see they wanted to use those boxes (of packages) as their table and chair (?)!!

october 13 -- 6:30 am today i received a call from haydee (remember her...? the one we surprised with the baby shower..?!!). she wanted to tell me she was having contractions with short intervals already and the she would be going to the hospital. gosh... it was time!! i tried to be calm and just told her everything would be ok.
late in the afternoon her husband called and he told me she has given birth. she labored the whole morning but mid-afternoon the baby came out.
so here is the picture of the proud father!! i got it from his friendster account. welcome to the world little one! her name is ALYSSA MOIRA.



october 12 -- what a good start of the week! as soon as i opened my blog and checked on the sites i frequently visit... i discovered i won something at vera lim's blog! i was sooooo happy!! can you see my name?!!! i won!! i won!! thank you very much vera lim for your generosity..!

WEEK 41: october 9-11

october 11 -- here is my kitchen candle with its amazing melt!! it has formed windows around... it didn't melt totally. fascinating!! i think..hahaha.


october 10 -- a friend reformatted our pc today. i was too lazy to copy the post it notes on the desktop so i took a photo of it...hahaha. i did save all the files in my external drive but i forgot that when the pc is reformatted, the programs would have to be re-installed!! grrr!!!! i lost my scrapping program so i had to download a lower version of it on-line. i left my program cd in the philippines..huhuhu! i don't want to buy again so i will just have to wait for someone from the philippines to come over (someone i know..of course) and bring the cd here. for the meantime, i will use this lower version... better than no scrapping at all!!


october 9 -- christmas arrived early!! yup! my christmas gift arrived! this is my dh's gift for me for christmas. i know it is too early, but he wanted to order it ahead of time. he said i cannot 'open' it til christmas..well technically i opened it already. i guess i cannot 'use' it before christmas. i really don't know if i can keep my hands off it. well, i will just read the manual and learn as much about it before i put it to test. now the question is...will i still get to open another gift when christmas comes....? i really don't know. well, this one is really good for 3 christmas actually!! maybe i will just ask for a box of chocolates on christmas day...hehehe.

WEEK 41: october 7-8

october 8 -- this is the last day of tita tess and tito carlos in paris. time has flown too fast. i was just waiting for them to arrive from canada and now they are flying back to canada. they did spend almost 2 weeks in europe but only 3 days in paris (arrival and departure dates not included). i feel like i still have so much to show them about paris but they didn't have enough time.

i was surprised to find a letter from tita tess and tito carlos. one letter for me and nitz thanking us for everything, and 2 letters for isabelle and rafael. it was so sweet of them! i was deeply moved by their letter that i cried. i gave the kids the letter just before they went to bed that night. rafael read the letter aloud so isabelle could hear what was written. i was surprised rafael was teary-eyed after reading the letter. i just hugged him tight.


october 7 -- here is isabelle all dressed-up and waiting for her friend to arrived. she invited 3 friends over to play and celebrate her birthday but only 1 came. she was still glad that one friend came to play with her. it wasn't a costume party, isabelle just wanted to wear her princess dress (a gift from haydee..).

WEEK 41: october 5 - 6

october 6 ISABELLE'S 5th birthday --
isabelle turned 5 today! she has been very excited about this day. we started the countdown around 50 days before this day. and everyday, she would tell me...'mommy, 45 sleeps na lang?!!' and i would reply... 'yes my dear, 45 sleeps more.' we did this almost everyday!
today she brought some goodies for her classmates! i packed some candies for all the kids.


when her papa came home, he bought a cake for her! we all sang happy birthday... and here she is waiting to blow the candles.


and of course, she didn't blow the candles alone. as soon as sofia came to the kitchen, she climbed up the chair and helped her sister blew the candles. isabelle didn't mind. they blew the candles 3 times!!



october 5 -- our new luggages arrived today!!

WEEK 40: october 1-4

here is the rest of week 40...

october 4 -- haydee and john had lunch with us! we had so much food left from the previous night's party and we needed help finishing them. after lunch, haydee helped in packing isabelle's goodies for her classmates. she will bring it on tuesday to school. she is really excited about her birthday!!

october 3 --i threw a surprise 'baby shower' for my dear friend haydee. how did i make her come? i told her we would be celebrating isabelle's birthday!
this was how it happened...
about 3 weeks ago (of maybe 4) i thought of giving her a baby shower. i called her sister to ask if they had plans. when she said none, i suggested the idea. she was really glad and very much willing to help. she contacted her friends and their relatives. we set the date and then planned the rest of the details. i didn't worry about any of the food. they basically brought everything.
the night of the party, haydee arrived at 2pm (gosh..very early!!!) she thought she needed to help out in cooking or baking for isabelle's party. i just told her i ordered food from somebody. we waited til 8pm. haydee was getting worried why no guests were coming. then someone buzzed!! it was her sister. haydee was surprised that her sister was the first one to arrive, and even more surprised when she heard her sister was with a group of people. she was telling me 'how can my sister bring other people when she is the only one invited!!!' she was about to go down the stairs to meet her sister and tell her! she was surprised to see that with her sister was 2 of her bestfriends! she was ready to apologize to me when i broke the news that it was her party!! she had no idea the it was for her. she was really happy and she cried when she thanked me and everyone else who came.

october 2 -- just finished doing the diaper cake for haydee...for her baby shower!

october 1 -- for this day i featured our trash bins!!! the one with the white cover is for bottles, the yellow-covered one is for recyclables, and the all-green ones are for perishables. our building care-taker takes them out everyday. she keeps them really clean!
