more snow today...
rafael volunteered to shovel the driveway. he was pretty excited to do it. i didn't really see how much he shoveled but when he entered the house he said, 'mommy, shoveling is not easy..'.

time passes by so quickly when you are having fun! the party ended around 2 am! but of course before we said our goodbyes, i took some more photos...

i got my very first christmas card for this year!!! thank you very much, ingrid!
we went out to do the grocery. isabelle was still sick but feeling a bit better. we didn't let her walk around the grocery, she rode the cart with sofia.

16 December 2010: DAY 350 (WEEK 51)
isabelle is sick. she was actually not feeling well when she got home yesterday.she still went to school today. we got a call from the school asking us to get isabelle because she threw up in class during lunch time. poor girl.
15 December 2010: DAY 349 (WEEK 51)
nitz was out for a job interview so sofia and i went to pick up rafael and isabelle at the bus drop off. i brought my camera to take some pictures of the kids. as i was taking some pictures of sofia, this girl (about 9 or 10 yrs old...) said "can i have a picture too!'. so i said " yes of course!". so i took a picture of her and sofia. then she said "do you want me to take a picture of both of you?". i was a bit hesitant because i don't let strangers hold my camera, but since a picture of me and sofia would be nice, i put the camera strap around the girl's neck to make sure it wouldn't fall. this is the picture she took! i had to take the camera after that one shot... to be safe.
the bus arrived and the kids and I walked home. when we got in front of the house i took their pictures.

i let them play a bit on the snow covered lawn before we entered the house.

14 December 2010: DAY 348 (WEEK 51)
we picked up the kids at school and we went straight to the doctor's clinic to have their flu shots. when we got there and the kids removed their jackets, i noticed that isabelle has a ribbon on her chest. she told me she got that because their team won in the soccer game and she made the only goal! i was surprised! isabelle is not really and sporty nor the competitive type... but i guess she is getting more confident about herself now. i am proud of you isabelle!!!

we attended the christmas presentation of my highschool friend at their church.
i took of photo of the stage as soon as we arrived...
and here they are! they sounded so well...like professionals!

i started working on our annual christmas cards!!!! i didn't have enough cards printed this year so i bought some ready-made cards to send out. i am really sorry that i cannot send all my friend my personalized card..but..but..but... they have the same love in it!!!

10 December 2010: DAY 344 (WEEK 50)

The presence of the salt causes what is known as freezing point depression. That is, salt helps to lower the temperature at which water will freeze. Placing salt on icy roads helps to inhibit the crystallization of water particles into ice, even as the salt breaks down any ice that may have already formed. The same result takes place in the case of placing salt on sidewalks. The environment is suddenly altered and it is less possible for the accumulated water particles to freeze into a slippery and dangerous layer of ice.
in short...we are just preventing the driveway to get slippery.

we attended the christmas presentation at st. richard's. isabelle performed as 'a traveler' in the play. here are some of the photos...
at the of the presentaion, there was a raffle (i don't really know for what foundation...) and rafael won the first prize!!! 2 tickets to the NHL game!!! he was so happy when his name was called.

we finally got sofia's leap frog 'click-start' to work. it was a gift from tita bubut last year. she fell asleep playing it..hahaha.

we know budget is a little bit tight right now but we have so much to be thankful for and we want to show how grateful we are to all those people who have been so wonderful to us... i guess it is not how expensive the gift is but the love the goes with it.

29 November 2010: DAY 333 (WEEK 49)
my plan landed at 5:30 am...i took the cab to go home. i am happy to be home.
the kids were suprised and happy to see me when they woke up. i prepared their lunch. after they left i slept...and slept...and slept. the next thing i knew the kids were home again! gosh i slept the whole day!!

finally back in LA..
perla and rommel brought me to chowking to have breakfast...TOCILOG!!! grabe...ang sarap...chowking!!!
then we rushed to the grocery to buy what we needed for (late) lunch..
and some friends came over to celebrate my last meal in LA...hehehe
thank you sid and may for all the trouble..

i really had a blast....!
thank you to perla and rommel for the great accomodation, driving across state to show me around, adding more pounds to my already overweight body (hehehe),...every minute was memorable. thank you to their kids--pia and miguel, for being so patient with the whole trip, for keeping me company...i really enjoyed the whole ride with you guys...'i know, right?!!'(it is personal joke). and thank you to sid and may for making the my last day extra special... unforgettable crabs!!
