remember the construction going on just across our street?!! it was to put some fence to enclose the bikes! now no cars can pass or park there... (not that i have seen cares doing that..hahaha but i am assuming that was the whole idea of putting the fences.).

25 April 2010: DAY 115 (WEEK 17)
it has been a great day for me...imagine after almost 7 years i got to play volleyball again! rafael came with me to our practise. there will be a tournament on may 16 so this is our first practise. i never thought i missed playing volleyball so much!! but i bet my body will be aching all over after this day...

isabelle showing off her pony tails! since it is already spring (...almost summer), i decided to put her hair up to she will feel cool. she really loves her new hair style.

its time for gigi and the kids to fly back to bangkok. i tried to put a big smile on my face as i said goodbye to her and the kids... but i have to admit i felt sad seeing them go.

i bought the kids their vitamins for their teeth as prescribed by the dentist.

just another lazy day at home... the kids were peacefully watching tv. they get a long well!

20 April 2010: DAY 110 (WEEK 17)
i took the kids to the dentist.
sofia was the first to be checked. she didn't cry but she was holding me tight all the time. her teeth are all fine.
the next was isabelle. she was so brave, she just climbed the chair and followed the dentist's instructions. she wore those shades to protect her eyes from the bright light. isabelle has some problems with her teeth so we have to come back again.
rafael was also checked but i didn't get a photo of him. his teeth are fine but he has to brush better. he has to come back to put some protective coating on his molars.
the dentist is really nice and friendly.

we had dinner at leon de bruxelles!! they are known for their mussels. it was gigi's treat!!

18 April 2010: DAY 108 (WEEK 16)
i got 2 additional herbs to my little 'herb collection'. maria brought me a rosemary plant and nitz bought the basil. don't you think it is a little bit to late to have this collection?!! hahaha...
another friend of gigi came! her name is jedd and she is a model in paris! i am so glad to meet her too! she is one amazing lady.

17 April 2010: DAY 107 (WEEK 16)
i am very excited to share with you that it is starting to get greener in our neighborhood. the trees around our apartment are starting to have leaves...
and (!!!) my plants have buds!! i am so happy they survived winter. that is a big accomplishment for me!!
maria offered to take care of them when i move to canada...

16 April 2010: DAY 106 (WEEK 16)
early this morning i saw a man cleaning the signage across the street. i was really impressed that they take time to clean it!
and since gigi was stuck in paris (indefinitely!!), some of her friends came over (again!) to spend a little time with her. our main dinning room was crowed with all the stuff i am sorting and packing, so we just gathered in our tiny kitchen. the night was filled with stories and laughters.

15 April 2010: DAY 105 (WEEK 16)
maria came to visit! she is a common friend of me and gigi. gigi is scheduled to fly tomorrow, so maria came to see her before she goes. it was a very quick meeting because gigi has another appointment that afternoon. it was nice to see maria and her youngest, eric.
monina, another friend of ours, also came but didn't catch gigi in the house. monina said she did see gigi at the bus stop and they exchanged some quick hi's and hello's! hahaha!
that night while we were eating dinner, monina called. she asked us to check the news on tv about the closing of some airports due to the volcanic erruption in iceland. she was concerned about gigi's flight. and when we saw the news on tv, we knew gigi would not be flying out tomorrow....

14 April 2010: DAY 104 (WEEK 16)
today is a big day for sofia!! this is the first day she started drinking milk from the glass!!! no more feeding bottles for her!! yipeee!!
yesterday, when she tasted the milk from her bottle, she said it was a bit sour. i guess it was because we were out for a long time and the milk was exposed to heat. when we got home, she didn't want to drink milk from her bottle.. she would say 'dodo asim (milk is sour!)'! so i offered her milk in a glass and she drank it.
the whole day today, she drank from the glass....!

13 April 2010: DAY 103 (WEEK 16)
i went to isabelle's school school at 1:45 because she was scheduled for check-up at the school clinic. i noticed that there were lots of ads around the school about being responsible with your pets' poo. i think its about time!!! paris is a beautiful city but i have to admit, the sidestreets have lots of dogs' poo.... a bit disgusting!
anyway...
the doctor tested isabelle's balance, eye sight, hearing,and checked her heartbeat, breathing, ears and throat. i was really glad the doctor speaks a little english. so far everything was fine! we finished at 2:15 so isabelle went back to class.
me and sofia wend to passy to pass time. i bought the kids some pjs. then i had caffe mocha at starbucks and i bought chocolate donut for sofia.
when nitz called to check how we were doing, sofia was so happy to talk to him.
then at around 4pm, we went back to school to get isabelle and rafael.
anyway...

12 April 2010: DAY 102 (WEEK 16)
monday passed by so quickly, bentonflocke is in germany and gigi is still with her mother-in-law. i started sorting things -- to throw, to give away, to sell and to take to canada.
nitz worked late that night, he didn't get to join us for dinner. he opened up this spread that bentonflocke gave him. he had bread with that for dinner.... it was good! ( i ate dinner already but i had to taste it..hehehe).

11 April 2010: DAY 101 (WEEK 15)
it was bentonflocke's last day in paris. i decided to take her to chateau de versailles to see one of the most famous castles in paris.
while showing her around paris, i felt it was also my time to say goodbye to all these beautiful places that have been part of my life. it was truly a wonderful blessing for me and my family to live in paris for 5 years... 5 wonderful years.
and to bentonflocke -- thank you for the trust, the friendship and all the beautiful memories. i hope to see you again someday, wherever it may be. it was really a pleasure to have met you in person.

another beautiful day!!!
my husband was kind enough to take care of the kids this weekend so i could take bentonflocke around paris.
first stop -- eiffel tower!
secon stop -- notre dame de paris!
we also went to that famous ice cream shop gigi suggested behind notre dame. we did find it and it was awesomely good!
third stop -- louvre!
fourth stop -- pont alexandre III
we were so lucky to see these newly wed on their fancy vintage bridal car!! oh so romantic...
after a long day of walking... we sat outside a restaurant along champs elysees and had caffe latte (for bentonflocke) and chocolat viennois (for me). i was shocked that our drinks cost 15€... but sitting there with a friend in a beautiful day in PARIS -- priceless!!
we met up with nitz afterwards then we heard mass together.
to bad i had a migraine that evening, i wasn't able to take bentonflocke on a boat ride.. huhuhu.

bentonflocke brought me lots of presents! i am so grateful...
today i took her to the street market not to far away from our apartment. then showed her the small statue of liberty. we had a quick lunch at home then headed out again. we took the bus and went to sacre-coeur, then brought her to trocadero to get a good view of the eiffel tower. too bad i didn't bring my camera. anyway, it was a beautiful day and she got good photos.
gigi came home late that night with this huge bundle of yellow roses! it was her wedding anniversary and her husband asked his father to buy these flowers for her (gigi's husband was on a business trip..). gigi celebrated this special day with her in-laws. happy anniversary, gigi!! wishing you both more wonderful years filled with love.

08 April 2010: DAY 98 (WEEK 15)
that morning, my friend gigi had to go out. she left her 2 boys with me. i was amazed that all the time their mom was gone, they just stayed in our bed playing the ds! the younger boy was contented watching his bigger brother play. sofia just watched too, awazed with what they were doing.
that evening, my blog friend 'bentonflocke' arrived! it was such an awazing feeling to finally meet her in person! we have followed each others blog for at least a year. now i can put a face to that 'someone' who have been there supporting me on my project 365 and my blog.
so here we are, gigi, me and bentonflocke, having a toast to paris and good friendship!
the coming days will be a bit busy for me for i have to take bentonflocke around paris!! what out for the photos of our adventure!!

just a little background: gigi was one of the very first filipina i got to know in paris. we met in a playgroup. we were the only filipinos in that playgroup. from the very first day i met her, i have that feeling that she will be a good friend... and i was right!! in 2007 she moved to the states... then after a year she moved to thailand. we have kept in touch all this time...
i am really happy to see her again.

easter monday is a holiday here in france (well... i don't know the rest of europe..hehehe). it was a sunny day so nitz brought the 2 girls to the park. me and rafael cleaned the house (in prepartion for our next guests!!).

03 April 2010: DAY 93 (WEEK 14)
it was a lazy saturday morning. i asked my husband and rolando (our guest) to get all the container of clothes from the storage so i could start sorting. after that, roland took some photos of the kids (mostly sofia...) and here is my favorite!
and he took a picture of me sorting clothes..look at those pile of stuff around me!! and look at ME! gosh... that is the 'everyday' me -- in my pj and pig tail.. hahaha.
after lunch my husband took rolando out for last minute shopping. we met up at mc donald's for an early dinner. i took a picture of them. price of coffee in mc donald's 1€ (i'm not really sure about that but it is not expensive...), rolando paying for the coffee, PRICELESS!! hahaha
then we attended the easter vigil mass which lasted for 3 hours. it was a long mass but the kids survived. got home around 12mn.
