27 September 2010: DAY 270 (WEEK 40)
ok...we watched THE NEXT STAR..again! it was just a re-run but my kids were as excited as the first time they saw it. i didn't get to tell you who won...it was DIEGO!!! i just love this kid..he deserve to win!

26 September 2010: DAY 269 (WEEK 39)
during weekends we usually wake up late...
and since we 'usually' have nothing to do during weekends, we just wait for my brother's or sister-in-law's invitation to go to their house.
here we are waiting for my brother to come pick us up....
and the best part of the day was the finale of THE NEXT STAR!!!!! my kids and their cousin grace are big fans!!! (well... i am a fan too!! i just love those kids...very talented!!).

these are maxx candies..they are menthol candies made in the philippines (so they are imported here in canada). it has become sofia's favorite since ate mel (my sister-in-law) introduced it to her. and now it has become the 'bribe' if you want sofia to kiss and /or hug you. one of our friends at church just gave sofia a whole bag of maxx!! now she told sofia that she owes her hundred hugs and kisses...hahaha. i hope sofia will remember that!!

spent a wonderful sunday at my brother's house with his friends... my kids had fun playing with other kids.
and just before the kids went to bed, isabelle showed me her very first test paper... she got perfect in spelling!! i am so happy!!
i was a bit worried about her, she was having a hard time with vowel sounds. the french way of sounding vowels is different with the english way, and now she is really adjusting. we have been practising every night how to sound and spell ... and i am just proud of her that she got all her words on her first test.
good job isabelle!!

last day of the week again...
we attended the evening mass...and on our way to church i noticed some trees turned orange already...autumn is just around the corner.
and just a photo of the leaves on the sidewalk...beautiful colors!
then we had dinner at a friend's house...so what did we have that night?
good wine...
good food...
and good friends...!!!

it just rained the whole day...
it was already raining when i brought the kids to school and it was a bit difficult to hold the umbrella, push the stroller and make sure the kids don't get wet....same thing when i picked them up.

we ate at imperial buffet...chinese-all-you-can eat..!!! i think this is the biggest chinese buffet i have ever been too. i wished i could get a photo of all the food...but my hunger ruled and i forgot about taking any...hahaha.

an old friend from highschool came to visit! gerard, me and ronald were classmates in highschool. the last time the three of us were together was 8 years ago! gerard was just here in canada attending his cousin's wedding...and good thing he contacted me and ronald to have a get-together.

i had a pretty relaxed day. i went to the mall (scarborough towncenter) to buy some school supplies..and of course other things! hehehe so after i brought the kids to school, i went back home to get my grocery bag and get dressed (properly..). me and sofia had lunch at the mall and just walked around without a rush. we had 3 hours to spend before we pick the kids up again.
and on my way to school, i bought myself a cup of mochaccino. i enjoyed it while we waited for the kids outside the school.
it was indeed and beautiful day to walk home...
and as we reached our house, i took some photos of the kids in front of our house. these are for papa..they miss him so much.

07 September 2010: DAY 250 (WEEK 37)
first stay of school!! what can be more exciting than this?!!
- so the night before we prepared notebooks and pens in rafael's and isabelle's bags... just in case they need to write something.. and the uniforms were all ready too!
- now bags are ready with their lunches and snacks inside...
i think i was more nervous than my kids...
i walked them to school. rafael would say 'mommyyyyyy...!'whenever i would stop them to take some photos of them..hehehe well of course i need to capture this moment!
so the walk to school was fun...
we arrived very early (but i'd rather be early than late!!!) the kids were all directed to gather in the open area at the back of the school. there were postings of each grade on the wall for the students to know where to gather. i left rafael where it said 'grade 6'... he was the only one there. then i walked isabelle to where it said 'grade 1'. the other kids knew each other so they were playing already. isabelle just stood beside me ..very shy.
then the bell rang and it was time to go inside. isabelle started crying...
as soon as she was inside, i walked back home. i was worried the whole day thinking -- did they eat well, was isabelle still crying inside the classroom, did they find new friends... i couldn't wait to pick them up again.
i left the house at 3pm to make sure i get there on time.. ( i was too early in fact because i realized it was a 12 minute walk..hehehe). as soon as the bell rang i went to isabelle's class. she was all smiles when i saw her. then i felt better..
we met rafael at the school gate because he exits from the side of the building.
they told me so many stories about their day... i was so happy listening to them as we walked home.

05 September 2010: DAY 248 (WEEK 36)
life is so different again without nitz...
anyway, we heard mass. then we went straight to the grocery store to buy some stuff we forgot to buy last friday. we walked to church, then to the grocery store..then home. the kids wished their papa was here to drive us but didn't complain anyway. i couldn't drive yet. my philippine license expired 5 years ago so they said i have to start all over again. i have a 'student license' which only allows me to drive if i am with someone with 5 years experience.
when we got home, i opened up the boxes with our fall and winter jackets. it is starting to get cold here already. i also needed to keep my self occupied so i would not feel sad.

we did our grocery shopping while nitz was still around to drive us. then after lunch we just stayed home.

we visited the father-in-law of nitz' sister. he is only visiting his mother and brother and sisters here in canada. we were really overwhelmed with the food they prepared for us! (there goes my diet...hehehe). salamat po!!!
then we went straight to church to have our car blessed.
