22 November 2010: DAY 326 (WEEK 48)
emily got the kids early christmas presents...thank you po!!

21 November 2010: DAY 325 (WEEK 47)
our guests left to see some of their friends in downtown toronto. it was snowing (!!!!) that morning and it was amazing!!! it did accumulate a bit on our porch but eventually melted.
20 November 2010: DAY 324 (WEEK 47)
we brought our friends to niagara falls! the last time we were here was july or august of 2008. we were tourists then! and even if this is my second time to see the falls, i am still amazed..
and thank you to emily and bill for the lunch! we had a wonderful view of the falls while having lunch.
then we walked around niagara to see more of the surroundings.
we went inside the wax museum which totally scared the kids...hahaha! only bart made them smile.
then we saw the guinness museum... the kids liked it.
and rafael bought this for me....i was touched.
we got back to toronto a bit late...but still another party to go to!! as soon as we got in the house, my brother called and invited us over. my guests met more of our friends here in toronto....it was a great night!

we had an old friend over for the weekend. emily was our officemate in lafarge philippines and she moved to canada in 2004. now she lives in alberta. i am really happy to see her again and finally meet her daughter and my godchild, cheska, and her husband, bill.

every thursday we get this much of paper...promotions of the stores in our area. this is something i found really interesting here in canada! every week the stores have items on sale which will (usually..) only last for a week. so every thursday we 'review' these flyers.

nitz cooked the kids oatmeal for snack and the kids ate while we do their assignments.

we finally got rafael's and isabelle's progress report cards... i think they did pretty well! their grades showed that they have adjusted well in their new school. i am really proud of them both..

i cut sofia's hair!!
that evening we got invited to a house of my brother's friend to watch the pacquiao-margarito match...
and pacquiao won by unanimouse decision!
it was my first time to watch pacquiao fight... i was amazed at how fast and strong he is!

experimented on some new recipes today!!
couscous salad (couscous, beans, feta cheese, red bell pepper, zucchini and parsley with olive oil and lemon dressing)

nothing much happened today...
just took a photo of sofia while she was seriouly watching tv in our room...but when she saw me taking a photo, she smiled...hehehe.
oh..i did something late that afternoon!! i painted the frame of this mirror black. it is originally white..but since i want to put it in the living room,i wanted it to match the center table and side tables..so i painted it black.
did you notice my cute red socks? hehehehe

we decided to go to the factory outlet not to far from scarborough. after we picked up the kids from school, we picked up my sister-in-law and niece who wanted to come.
well... it wasn't too dark when we left the house...but we got lost a bit...hehehe.
and finally we got to VAUGHAN MILLS (pronounced as VON MILLS...i wonder why?).

so here is our tree!!
...and here is the sofa bed we bought. we placed it in the playroom and the kids are just happy to have a sit to fit them all (we use to have a couch that can sit only one person in the playroom).

we visited our old friends at downtown toronto. they have been here in canada since 2004. my kids adore their little girl and they had fun playing together...
it was nice to see old friends.
on our way home we had a view of the CN tower and i had to take a photo of the kids with it. i was suddenly reminded me of the first time i took a photo of the kids at the eiffel tower...well, now canada is our home.

i know...i know...it is very early to put up crhistmas decorations but i just cannot help it! it has been a tradition for me--right after all souls and all saints i have to decorate the house! we just bought our tree last thursday and the following day i put it up already..hehehe. i waited for this weekend to decorate the tree so the kids were around.

our very first family movie night at home...
when nitz was away, we usually had movie nights at my brother's place. now we tried it at home...no hd tv though but it still felt good.
and just before we went to bed, isabelle handed me this. she made this during their terry fox run at school. i was so touched that she wrote 'grampa' for her dedication. i just stared at that for a long time...i miss my dad.

i just took a photo of our breakfast bowls...isn't it wonderful to have breakfast with someone. i am not saying i am not enjoying breakfast with the kids..but during school days ( when nitz was away...) i could barely finish my coffee while it's hot. i am just glad nitz is finally home for good...

it was the first day nitz brought the kids to the bus pick up point... finally sofia got her extra sleep in the morning and i don't have to drag her out of bed and into the cold.

the kids were so excited when they woke up...i promised them they could open their gifts from our friends in paris. it was really sweet of them to send the kids gifts!!

that afternoon we attended mass. when we got out of the church, it was snowing!! nitz and the kids went ahead of me...when i ran to the car i was saying a bit out loud...'it's snowing! i't's snowing!'. some people looked at me smiling...i think they were wondering from what planet i came from ..hahaha. but i mean it was so early to see snow!! (in my opinion that is...)
we headed to my brother's house...as usual we would be having dinner there. when i told my sister-in-law about my 'snow-story', she corrected me..they call it flurries!! not snow!! oh...so mabybe that was why people where looking at me oddly...hahaha (it was like calling some showers thurderstorm,...hahaha).
i know you can barely see the 'flurries' on the window but i couldn't get a better shot.
then the most awaited 'trick or treat'!!!! the kids all dressed up and even kuya ed had a little disguise...hahaha
i have to tell you it was cold that night.... with out fear the kids walked on to every house... (hehehe)
and after circling a while block, we had enough treats so decided to go home. they emptied their bags on the table and shared their goodies with their cousins.
oh my... the photo is foggy...hehehe my camera is defrosting...hahaha! (is it right to use that on a camera...?)
