i was surprised to see some government trucks outside the house. so i stood by the window just watching. then they started working on our neighbor's tree. i thought they were just cutting the branches (but i was thinking why would the tree need trimming when it is still very young).
then they tied a rope around the trunk and cut it at the base!!! i know there must be a reason why they needed to cut the tree...i just feel sad that that young tree is now gone.
on a lighter note, i saw these icicles above our front door...they look beautiful.

Strange to take down that tree, and strange season to do it. But maybe it was for a good reason...
