my brother borrowed 4 movies...but we only got to watch iron man 2 and robinhood.
it was a simple celebration but deep inside i felt good.

11 October 2010: DAY 284 (WEEK 42)
this is my very first thanksgiving in canada!... and it is my VERY FIRST thanksgiving ever! we just went to my brother's house (as usual) to share this special day with them. i cooked 'pansit' (rice noodles with chicken, shrimp and vegetables), and baked chicken in 'herbs de provence'. we still have some barberque, baked macaroni and corn and carrot from yesterday's gathering.

10 October 2010: DAY 283 (WEEK 41)
its weekend again and we have nowhere else to go but my brother's house..hehehe! i met another family at my brother's house. the head of the family was my brother's classmated in highschool (and college..i think). they just arrived here in canada too... i thinkd last april or may. anyway, it was nice meeting them.

09 October 2010: DAY 282 (WEEK 41)
it was such a beautiful saturday!!!
i decided to rake the backyard...hehehe well, rafael, isabelle and grace also helped a bit.
and we filled 3 big paper bags and and our large bin...

08 October 2010: DAY 281 (WEEK 41)
this is my transfer ticket for the subway. i like the fact that it indicated that october 8 is the 281st day of the year.
i had a very tiring but productive day! we (me and my kind-enough-to-offer-to-come-with-me sister-in-law..thank you very much ate mel!!!) processed sofia's permanent resident card.
after i dropped off the kids to school. me and sofia went straight to town center to meet my sister-in-law. while we were waiting i had her picture taken, we needed a new photo of her because the last one we submitted was not correct.
then we took the train/subway to go the the office where we needed to submit the updated photo. we had 2 train transfers to get to our destination. when we got there, it didn't take us too long to be called. by lunch time we were already on our way back to towncenter. we had our late lunch there... then we just walked around a bit. around 2:45pm. i left my sister-in-law there because i needed to go pick up the kids.
this was the first time sofia walked from the school to our house! she was so happy to be walking side by side with her sister and brother.

07 October 2010: DAY 280 (WEEK 41)
i couldn't believe it was already thursday. when the week started i was just thinking of isabelle's birthday celebration...and didn't realize that monday, tuesday and wednesday just passed by.
after we brought isabelle and rafael to school, me and sofia decided to just have a relaxing day. while i was on the computer, i caught sofia putting on her socks and shoes on her own! when i asked her, 'where are you going?' she said, 'go to school'. hahaha she was already prepraring to pick up her brother and sister. when i looked closer, she did put on her socks and shoes properly and 'nicely'! after awhile, i got dressed up too to pick up the kids.
when we got home, isabelle requested if she could play with her birthday gift. i said she could after doing all her assignments. so she checked her agenda book and finished all that was needed to be done...hehehe. both rafael and isabelle were excited to try the play-doh. sofia fell asleep on our way home so she didn't get to play...

06 October 2010: DAY 279 (WEEK 41)
today is isabelle's birthday!!!
anyway, after i picked them up from school we again went to my brother's house first. i need to drop off sofia and isabelle there and then me and rafael would go to the dentist. on our way to the dentist, i couldn't help but take a photo of these trees...beautiful colors!
and at the dentist, these were the scenario. i wish i could explain to you in detail what they did but i would just end up saying --'and the dentist put those silver things on his lower teeth and then he fitted rafael's head gear' ... did that even made sense..hahaha. with the pictures it would made sense i guess..hehehe.
and then we attended mass to give thanks for isabelle's birthday. after the mass we had dinner at a restaurant. rafael didn't get to eat much because of his newly attached gadgets in his mouth...poor him.
after dinner we all went to our house..
we sang for isabelle, had coffee/tea with the cake and isabelle (and sofia!!) opened her gifts.
thank you very much to all who shared this special moment with us...and to all those who greeted isabelle in facebook, thank you!! i made a collage of all the messages (the purple collage behind her), she felt so special.

another dentist appointment for rafael. first stage of his 'braces adventure'! rings were attached to his end molars.
on our way home he was complaining a bit... it was painful. well...there is more to come. we have another appointment tomorrow...
and right after the kids went to bed, i baked these rocky road brownies for isabelle's birthday...
